Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St Peter’s Church of England Primary School website. We hope that you find our website interesting and informative. If you cannot find what you are looking for or need any further information about our wonderful school, please do not hesitate to contact us.

St. Peter's provides a caring, learning environment underpinned by Christian faith, belief and values where everybody is given the opportunity to grow and fulfil their true potential, just like the Mustard Seed in the Parable of the Mustard Seed, Matthew 13:32.  “Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

At St. Peter’s, we are ‘Growing and Learning together’ so we can become strong and dependable, just like the Mustard Seed, Matthew 13:32.  Our Christian Values underpin everything that we do here at St Peter’s.  These are: To show love and care to others, To respect other people's beliefs or cultures, To try your best, To be kind and helpful, To be honest in our relationships, To behave with patience and respect and To celebrate our achievements and hard work.

We support the Church of England Vision for Education by offering a broad curriculum that enables young people to flourish and to live "life in all its fullness" (John 10:10).  Our engaging curriculum recognises the skills and talents of all learners. We have a dedicated set of staff who work together as a team to ensure that each and every child enjoys their time with us. We provide all learners with lifelong experiences including: Forest School sessions, Science Shows, Author visits and sessions with our Artist in Residence - Gillian Parish.

Outside of the classroom, pupils will go on at least two school trips per year to exciting places such as Cadbury World, Blackpool and the Imperial War Museum. We also offer an array of extra-curricular activities including: Well- being club,  Dance, Multi -- Sports, Science, Music, Spanish, Choir, Ethos Council and Trinity Club.

We have strong community and charity links. In 2019, we achieved the Christian Aid Global Neighbours Bronze Award and in 2020, we acheived a Picture News Impact Award. We work closely with St.Peter's Church and a number of global and national charities. We also fundraise and take part in community action throughout the academic year. Please see our charity section and Twitter Feed for more information.

We will do all we can to ensure that the years that your child spends at our school are as happy and fruitful as possible and that the whole family will benefit from being members of the community of St Peter’s Church of England Primary School.
